Woman Found Seriously Injured On Road Outside Ardglass at 4.30am

dn_screenPolice are appealing for information after a woman, aged in her 50’s, was found lying on a road just outside Ardglass during the early hours of this morning, Sunday 29 November.

The woman was found unconscious on the Ardtole Road at Sheepland around 4.30am and was taken by ambulance to hospital where her condition is described as serious. A bicycle was discovered nearby and police are investigating the possibility that the woman may have been cycling in the area.

Police are trying to establish the circumstances of how the woman came by her injuries and Detective Sergeant Emme Wallace is appealing for anyone who was on the Sheepland Road early this morning and who may have witnessed a woman walking or cycling on the road or anyone who has any information in relation to this incident to contact officers at Downpatrick on the non-emergency number 101.
