RGU handballer Tom Savage has won an Ulster title.[/caption] The Senior team will take to the field for the first time this season when they take on Whitecross from Armagh in a friendly on Wed 27 Feb. Match on top pitch under the lights. Good luck to the Red High and the RGU boys in their McLarnan Cup semi-final on Tuesday, they take on St Louis Kilkeel in Drumaness. The RGU U-14 Girls are hosting a tournament at the club on Sat 16th March in aid of Cornelia de Lange Syndrome. All clubs interested in attending please contact Roisin Polly on 07871744103. The U-12 Boys football training will commence at the club pitches on Saturday morning at 11.30am. All boys born in 2001/2002 are welcome to come down and train. Please wear suitable gear and bring £1 and a water bottle. U-14 Boys training has now commenced, anyone interested in playing please come along to training on Monday nights at 7pm at the club. RGU Senior Presentation will be held at the club on Fri 8th March. All members and their partners are invited down for a meal with entertainment by Adam McKee. Tickets cost £15, please contact Marty Brady to purchase a ticket. Down Ladies are having a Grand Draw, tickets are £10 each. Please contact Kyla to buy one and help support Ladies Football. Last year we held two strategy meetings to try and plot a new way forward for our club. A lot of new and different ideas came out of that meeting which we are working on implementing over the next 12 months. As part of this process we are going to hold a further strategy meeting on 25th March to provide an opportunity for our members to give and receive feedback on the direction the club should take. All members are invited down to participate. RGU will be hosting a Fight Night on the St Patrick’s Day holiday weekend. A few dates for your calendar. RGU have organised for the legendary Wolfe Tones to come to Downpatrick in what will be their 50th anniversary and final farewell tour. They will be appearing on the August Bank Holiday Weekend, Saturday 24th Aug. This is a tremendous coup for the club and we look forward to their appearance. Further details will be released in due course. Also coming is the hilarious play ‘The Rare Oul Times’. Date and venue will be confirmed within the next few weeks.
