As well as this the club have arranged a programme of events to run throughout the day to add to the family fun. The events will include penalty kick competition, father & son races, mother & daughter races, family tug of war, bean bag races, dancing competitions and many more.

Speaking about the funday, Celtic Bhoys’ Chairman Patrick Moore said:  “The club is delighted to run such an event in partnership with Down District Council. We as a club recognise the vital role sports clubs can play in our local community and it is with great pride we run events such as this. I know myself as a parent how important it is to have fun days out with the kids, friends and family. We hope that all families within the District will come along and enjoy a great day out this Bank Holiday weekend.  A lot of work has went into this event and it is sure to be a day not to be missed so please come along everyone”

“The funday will run from 1pm to 5pm and as previously highlighted upon paying the admission fee of £5 there will be NO CHARGE for any of the attractions or events within the funday. Speaking about this Patrick said, “The aim of charging the admission fee is to allow all the children to enjoy unlimited fun on each of the attractions within the funday without their parents worrying about costs whilst they also enjoy the fun filled atmosphere. “

Down District Council Vice Chairman Gareth Sharvin has provided support to the club in organising this event and speaking about it he said

“The cross community fun day organised by Celtic Bhoys FC is another display of the club’s commitment to the local community. Through Down District Council’s community festival fund, we are able to provide local clubs and community groups the opportunity in running their own event and provide a great day for all the family.

“With such an array of activities, the whole family will be catered for. I might take part in the bean bag and dancing competition myself. I would like to congratulate the organisers in designing what can only be described as a great day. Make sure you get down to the Cricket Club on Sunday 25th of May, a day not to missed.”
