Downpatrick Lions Sign Hospital Campaign Petition

MEMBERS of Downpatrick Lions Club gathered to give their support and sign a petition to retain the A & E Department full-time at Downe Hospital.

The Lions have a long connection with Downe Hospital, as they funded the first Cardiac/accident ambulance for Downpatrick in 1974. This was the first ambulance of its type in Northern Ireland and gave Downe Hospital a ground-breaking facility.

Pictured in the photograph seated, are Lion President Brendan Kearney and Eamonn McGrady, Chair of the Downe Community Health Committee, and standing from left to right are Lions David Medhurst, Graham Dickson, Vincent Murphy, Fergus Kelly, Seamus McMullan, Ken Dryden, Colin McKee and Sean Carvill.
