Down Senior Ladies County Team For 27 February 2017

The Down ladies country team continued their league campaign on Saturday 25 February with an away game to Roscommon.

A game Down should have been winning having much of first-half possession and missing two penalties. The game could have been put to bed by half-time. The second half a determined Roscommon got on the front foot for spells, but Down will certainly see it as an opportunity missed. Final score was Down 0.8 Roscommon 3.8. Next up for the ladies in the fifth round of the league, is a home game to Limerick on Saturday 18th March. #MourneLadiesRising

Down Minor Ladies County Team

Down Minor Ladies continued preparations for their Ulster Championship opener away to Antrim on 12th March with a useful runout against Armagh on Sunday in Newry. Training continues this Sunday 5 March in St Colman’s, Newry at 12.00 noon.

Down U-16 Ladies County Team

Down U-16’s played Antrim in a warm up and were without some key players. They were on the wrong side of a large score line. To their credit, Antrim seem to be very strong and at this stage may be the bench mark for the campaign ahead. Well done those girls who kept playing to the end in very wet, windy and cold conditions. Back to training next weekend to regroup and work on those areas where we were found lacking. Details will follow in the WhatsApp group.

Down U-15 Ladies Development Team

Down U-15’s played Antrim in a challenge game in very wet conditions, so well done to the girls who got soaked before the match even started. A very positive game and much improved team work displayed by everyone. Many thanks to Antrim for organising the game and many thanks to the large support that braved the weather. League starts next Saturday with a home game v Cavan. Venue to be confirmed, details to follow in WhatsApp group.

Down U-14 Ladies County Team

The U-14’s continued preparation for the competitive season with training on Saturday in Downpatrick. Next week the U-14’s will play a challenge match with the Down U-13 squad and will finalise arrangements for the Ulster Blitz on Saturday 11th March in Cookstown.

U-13 Ladies County Development Team

The U-13 Girls continue their development by playing challenge games against Kilcoo U-14 girls and a Down U-14 girls select team next Saturday morning in St Patrick’s Grammar School, Downpatrick. This will help in their preparations for the Ulster Blitz on 11 March in Cookstown.
