Bright Notes

Commiserations to Noel burke and the senior team who lost out in the Junior Championship semi final against Dromara. Credit to all players for all their hard work throughout the match. Conor Doyle had a great game scoring 0-5 alongside BJ McMenamin also scoring 1-2. Freddie O’Connor, Pearse McCarthy, Ciaran Quinn and Seamas Tumelty all scoring a point each battling throughout to keep the ball moving forward though it was difficult to keep track of scores seemingly due to a fault with the scoreboard. Nicky O’Connor was Bright’s best player scoring 1-0, running tirelessly for the duration of the game. Many thanks to Robert Ryans for sponsoring Lucozade Sport and to Eamon Crane of Crane Tyres for sponsorship of a match ball for the semi final and to everyone who turned out on the day in support of your club team – loud and quiet, young and old and of course, everyone in between. It was great to see. U-16 Cillbreactain were particularly unfortunate losing out to the RGU in the semi-final of the Championship at Ballykinlar on Saturday. The team never lay down and battled hard right to the finish with Cillbreactain missing out on stealing victory when the ball ricocheted off the post and back outfield where it was cleared by the RGU defence in the closing minutes. Unfortunately it wasn’t to be their day though respect is due to the boys and their mentors for their commitment in their quest in the Championship this year. Thanks to everyone who came along and cheered the team on – it’s truly appreciated. 200 Club winners this month are £500 Paul Brown £100 Catherine McLeigh, Martin McIlmail, Darren Teggart, Therese McCartan and Harry Torrens.
