Aware Becomes Waterfront And Ulster Hall’s First Charity

Funds raised from the Waterfront and the Ulster Hall will help AWARE continue to develop its services.

AWARE’s established network of 25 support groups throughout Northern Ireland (and online support groups), provide invaluable support for people with depression and bipolar disorder.

AWARE’s education programmes, delivered into schools, communities, colleges, universities and workplaces are raising awareness of how to develop and maintain positive mental health and build resilience to deal with life’s challenges.

During the year ahead the Waterfront and Ulster Hall will partner with AWARE in support of their fundraising endeavours, both via collections at selected events and through bespoke fundraising activities organised with and undertaken by Waterfront and Ulster Hall staff.

Belfast Waterfront and Ulster Hall Chief Executive, Catherine Toolan, said: We are very proud to welcome AWARE as our inaugural nominated charity.  We look forward to working with their dedicated officers and volunteers to both assist with their fundraising efforts and to support their drive in raising public awareness and understanding of depression which has become such a prevalent and growing issue within our local communities today.”

Pam Gaston, Corporate Fundraiser for AWARE said: AWARE is absolutely delighted to be the first chosen charity partner for the Ulster Hall and Waterfront. We have already received a great deal of support from staff at the Waterfront and Ulster Hall who have helped us raise awareness and much needed funds by participating in fundraising events for AWARE such as our Slieve Donard Trek and the Skydive.

“All the money raised during the course of the charity partnership will allow AWARE to continue their services educating and providing support to people with the illness of depression across Northern Ireland.
