Applicants Invited For £3million Fund To Promote Good Relations

dn_screenJunior Ministers Emma Pengelly and Jennifer McCann have announced funding worth up to £3million for projects which promote good relations.

Community groups and voluntary organisations can now apply for funding through OFMDFM’s Central Good Relations Fund for the 2016/17 financial year.

The Junior Ministers said: “This Fund provides financial support to deliver tangible projects which promote good relations. These projects make a significant difference to the lives of local people in the immediate term and also create a positive and beneficial legacy in their areas.

“The funded projects contribute to the Executive’s commitment to improving community relations and continuing the journey towards a more united, shared and reconciled society. We would encourage any group which may meet the criteria to consider applying.”

The successful projects will support the achievement of the Executive’s strategic objectives relating to good relations as set out in the Together: Building a United Community strategy.

Applicants can apply to the Central Good Relations Fund for time bound projects and for small grant funding requiring a few hundred pounds to larger scale project funding. The fund does not, and will not, replace mainstream core or project funding. The average scale of projects awarded funding through this scheme will be in the order of £50,000.

Groups wishing to apply to the Fund can download guidance and application forms at the OFMDFM website.
