He said: “Following a number of residents in Dunwellan Park in Newcastle contacting me about vandals causing anti-social behaviour and also burning of wheelie bins, I asked Housing Executive to inspect the targeted areas to see if increased measures could be introduced to combat the anti-social behaviour and burning of wheelie bins.

“Housing Executive have now confirmed to me that they plan to increase the height of the fences near the Dunwellan Park properties as well as to increase security lighting at the back of the flats and to clean the stairways and repaint them.

“The recently burnt out wheelie bins will also be replaced by Housing Executive as well as further steps to help reduce the anti-social behaviour which has occurred in the Dunwellan Park area recently,”  added the Alliance Councllor.
