Invitations are open to the Trial Process of the Irish FA Player Development Programme.

Grassroots Development Officer Seamus Heath said: “I am calling local players to a trial for the Irish FA Player Development Programme which will take place on Monday 14 January 2013 at Assumption Grammar School, Ballynahinch, from 6pm to 7.30pm. The player concerned should come dressed in their own kit and wear suitable footwear for the surface.

“The Irish FA Player Development Programme is a structured professional coaching programme offered to children playing football and that have been identified for their level of ability.  The purpose of the trial process is to identify the technically best players within the Southern Region area.

“The successful players will be placed in a technical and physical educational programme designed to produce improvements in football ability in conjunction with personal development.  The cost of involvement in the programme is £100 which is made payable to the Irish Football Association. This payment will cover the cost of facility hire and each player will be supplied with the full range of the new IFA  adidas training gear.

“The age groups are children from 2002 and 2003. This programme will be organised and run by qualified Irish FA staff and take place between January and June 2013.”

The Southern region is being delivered by two Pro License coaches who will ensure that your player will greatly improve their skills and football knowledge as they progress on the excellence ladder.
