St John's GAA Notes For 7 July 2014

The Seniors suffered a narrow defeat in Banbridge on Friday night. Clann Na Banna led 1-6 to 0-3 at the break but the Johnnies responded in the second half to take the lead but 3 late points by the Banbridge side gave them a 1-12 to 1-11 win. There are no Senior fixtures next weekend but they are back in action on Friday 18th when they host Bredagh at Pairc Naomh Eoin

The Minors had a 6-6 to 4-10 win away to Ardglass last Tuesday evening. Scorers were Sam Walsh 2-2, Paul Walsh 3-1, Michael McCourt 1-0, Aodhan Morgan 0-1 (0-1f) and Tiernan Noade 0-2 (0-1f). Special mention to Neil Savage who pulled off some great saves writes Eoin O’Boyle.

dn_screenThe Under -16’s travelled to Drumgath on Thursday night but lost to a strong home side.

The Under -12’s had 2 away games in the past week and lost narrowly in both to Kilclief and Ardglass.

The Under-6s and Under 8s training is now on a summer break and will resume on Tuesday 29 July at 6.30pm.

Friday night sees the much anticipated return of Derek Ryan to the clubrooms. Doors open at 8.00pm and admission is strictly over 18s. It is advisable to arrive early. The annual Camp JMac Golf Classic will now take place in Mayobridge Golf Club on Sunday 13 July. Tee-times are going fast so book your fourball as soon as you can. There will also be a bus provided from the golf club to Castlewellan on time for the World Cup final.
