Loving Heartburn:  Great to see the club full 3 nights in a row for heartburn hotel. Congratulations to Siubhan and all the cast for the great craic and entertainment – there is some talent in our village – special mention to the volunteer staff who put some shift in – proceedings ending with sound functions disco in the members bar. Such a weekend of entertainment!

Physical Fitness for Youths and Adults Workshop Down GAA will be holding a “Physical Fitness for Youths and Adults” workshop in St John’s GAC Drumnaquoile at 7.15pm on MONDAY 14 DECEMBER 2015. This workshop will be delivered by Eoin Bradley, Ulster GAA.

The workshop will be indoor and will have both theory and practical elements. This course ill explore ways of developing physical fitness in youth and adult players in a bid to ensure that they can meet the physical demands of modern day Gaelic Games. The workshop is free of charge. The content of this course is geared towards coaches of players aged 16 to adult. If you are interested contact Richie Reynolds.

Down GAA – Winter Coaching Programme: Down GAA are running a number of free weekly courses/workshops for coaches – our Club base for December & January for relevant U-10 to U16 workshops will be An Riocht GAC and we would encourage as many mentors as possible to attend if feasible. Walking Club: Tuesday night walkers. Anyone who would like to join us any Tue night during the winter nights for approx 1 hour we leave the clubrooms at 7.30 sharp. EVERYONE WELCOME.

Christmas Swim: The annual Charity Swim will take place at the Slope on Christmas Day at 12.45pm (assemble at 12.30pm). This year’s charities are: Craigavon Hospital ICU (In memory of Paul Cooper), Little Folk Playgroup; Rostrevor Playtime; Childreach International (Pearce Magee Fundraising Project). Sponsor cards are available from Gerry Sloan. Thanks to all those who supported last year’s swim.

Hospice CD Launch: Sincere thanks to all those who supported the CD launch of ‘Hospice’ by Rose Brennan & friends in memory of Fr. Gerry McArdle in St. Mary’s Social Club, Burren on Sat, 5th December. It was a great night supported by the local community. Copies of ‘Hospice’ CD are available online at www.rosebrennan.co.uk and from your local Hospice shop in Newry, Banbridge and Rathfriland. All proceeds are in aid of the Southern Area Hospice.

St Bronagh’s GAA Club: Children’s Christmas Party-Sun, 20 December, from 3pm-5pm. This year the party will have a Fairy Tale Theme, so why not come along in your favourite costume for an afternoon of party games and dancing which will be organised by Callina Parr and, of course, a visit from Santa. All primary school children are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.

St Bronagh’s Primary School: Open Day will take place between 1.30pm and 3pm on Tuesday, 15 December for all new September 2016 children and their parents.
