A number of young soccers players gathered in Saintfield to enjoy a week of fun and games and improve their playing skills.

The training is at the Saintfield AYC ground.


Killyleagh Summer League Coming To End

THE curtain comes down on another season in the Killyleagh Summer League with the presentation night this weekend writes Chris Hagan.

Boys and girls who took part are reminded that the presentation night will be on Friday at 7pm at the Bridge Centre.

Parents are asked to bring a packet of biscuits, buns or sandwiches for the party.

A special prize of a ball signed by the Crusaders team that reached the Irish Cup final and finished runners-up in the Carling Premiership last season has been donated by Crusaders midfielder Aidan Watson who started his career in the Summer League. It is one of the prizes to be raffled on the night.

Thanks to the parents who supported the junior boys and minor girls teams who took part in challenge games as part of Crossgar Youth League ’s finals day. Special thanks to Paul Teggart and Eddie Craig, and all at Crossgar who provided every child with a trophy and goody bag, and made everyone very welcome. It was a day enjoyed by the children and their parents. Thank you also to the two managers, Stuart McCormick and Patricia Hamilton.

Children who helped raise funds for Clic Sargent Cancer appeal for children are asked to turn up at The Showgrounds, Comber Road, this Saturday at 12.30pm for the official photo of the handover of the money.

A total of £700 was raised for the charity at the football for all day run in conjunction with the Killyleagh branch of the Northern Ireland Supporters Clubs.

GOALS galore in the junior section as the Killyleagh Summer League wrapped up for another season.

Caolen Lennon, Sam Kirk and Sam Carson all ended up with four goals at the Bridge Centre playing fields on Wednesday night.

THERE were goals galore as the Killyleagh Summer League kicked off again last week after a two week summer holiday break.

The players in the senior section led the way when the action resumed at the Bridge Centre playing fields on Wednesday night past.

Conor Hamilton was the player with the golden boots in the senior section, banging in four goals. Also in form with two goals each were Matthew Lynch, Elliot Hagan, Nathan Hamilton, Daniel Noble and Karl Irwin.

 


Killyleagh Summer League

SCOTT Irwin blasted in the goals as the Killyleagh Summer League held its last session before the July holidays writes Chris Hagan.

Irwin hit a remarkable six goals in the minor section on a night when the goals flowed at the Bridge Centre playing fields.

Finn Quigley was also in red hot form, hammering in four goals with Cody Halliday (2) and Kodi Carson (2) the others in top form. Ethan Davidson and Aimlee Dickson also bagged a goal each.
