Ballymote Sports and Wellbeing Centre, Downpatrick is the venue for hosting Emory College Basketball team USA (currently rated 25th in the US College pecking order). Emory Eagles are playing a County Down Select Team at 12 Noon on Tuesday 16 August 2011.

Shimna Stars Special Olympics Basketball Club Update

Since relocating to its new base at Shimna Integrated College, King Street Newcastle the club has seen an increase in members attending the weekly sessions.

The increase in numbers is most welcome and the new facility lends itself to more floor time for all the athletes.

Upcoming events:

- 5th October clothes collection – bring items to Shimna College @ 6.30pm for collection

- 7th October Annual General Meeting – Burrendale Hotel 7.00pm.

- 9th October Inter-Club tournament – Bangor leaving Newcastle 9.00am returning 5.00pm approx

All Athletes and Volunteers are requested to attend these events.

The club continues at Shimna Integrated College each Tuesday 6.30 – 7.30pm

New Athletes & Volunteers welcome, come along to visit one of the sessions on a Tuesday evening.
