RGU Notes For 5 October 2014

The Year 9 team registered their first victory with a good win over a very competitive Saul team on Saturday afternoon.

There is no match this weekend as the RGU has a bye. Next up the following week I a home match against Carryduff writes John Murphy.

U’6’s have now moved to Ballymote on a Saturday morning, same time 10.30am.

dn_screenThe U-8’s took part in their last tournament this season on Satirday at Newry Shamrocks. After a successful run through the group stages the boys were unlucky to come up against a very strong Shamrocks team in the Cup quarter finals. Nevertheless they performed very well and the improvement over the summer months is very clear to see. Training continues for the next few weeks at 10.30am on a Sat morning down at the club.

The Senior presentation will be held in Diamond Pats in Newcastle on Saturday 25 October. More details later but all are welcome, not just players but anyone with a connection to the club. Special guest is Benny Tierney. Contact Edel for tickets. Juvenile Presentation will take place on Sunday 12 Oct at 2pm. All players from U-6 to U-16 and their parents are invited along.

A new play, St Mungos, from TV’s Grimes and McKee will be coming to RGU on Saturday 8 November. This is a comedy about a failing GAA club and promises to be a good night’s craic. Tickets are £10 and are available from Edel (07759418419) or any executive member
