RGU Notes For 10 July 2016

The Seniors continued on their winning ways with a win against Bredagh on Monday. Not even the appearance of a mystery point at half-time for the visitors could deter the Hoops as they made it 8 straight wins. This was never a classic given the rain but a strong second half performance saw the boys home. There will now be a break for a couple of weeks

dn_screenThe Reserves also had a good win against An Riocht on Sunday at PTR, with 5 points to spare. Again we had a mystery point added to the visitors score at half-time. Something in the air at PTR!

The minors had a good win at home to Bright on Tuesday with the 16’s also following this up with an away victory in Bryansford on Thursday night.

The Senior ladies had a rare defeat on Saturday evening when they fell to league leaders and favourites Burren.

The RGU Annual 10k run will take place on Wednesday 27th July. More details next week and on Facebook

The club will be running their own FunCamp from Mon-Friday 18-29th July. This will be overseen by Senior Manager Conor Deegan and members of the senior Football teams ( Mens and Ladies). This will run from 9-3pm and will cost £50 per week for each child with generous discounts for families. Contact Details on face book.

This week’s Lotto numbers were 7.10.11.14 Seven share £100 but no big winner. Jackpot now rises to £4600!

Saturday saw the first semi- final of the Charity LipSync Battle. All funds raised go towards “ All Lives are Precious”, “Downpatrick Romanian Orphanage Appeal”, & “ Cancer Research”. The second semi- final is on Saturday 23rd July.
Prior to this week’s semi the audience were treated to a fantastic performance by young Lucy Bell, a real star in the making.

We would like to extend our congratulations to former Down Camogie Star, Ciara Mageean from Portaferry, who secured a bronze medal at the European Athletics Championships in Amsterdam. Ciara narrowly missed out on silver but has now set her sights on the Olympics in Rio.
