We are holding a Big Breakfast in the club on Saturday morning in aid of the appeal to repatriate Ryan Doyle home to Liatriom. We appeal to all our members, young and old, to come down and support this most worthy of causes. Collie Quinn will be frying the rashers from 9 o’clock onwards writes John Murphy.

The amalgamated team of RGU and Saul U-21’s will compete in the County ‘B’ Final next Sunday after they were given a w/o against Clonduff. They will play Burren with the venue to be confirmed later in week.

Good luck to the RGU handballers who will compete for the Red High in the Ulster Schools Final Day on Wed. They won the right to represent Down after overcoming St Colman’s, Newry last month. The team of Ronan Murphy, Tim Prenter, Ryan Sterritt, Eoin McMullan and Ruairi Quinn will compete against other schools from all over Ulster at St. Ciaran’s in Ballygawley. We wish them all well.

County Draw tickets are now available. We would like, if possible, for every family with a member in the club to purchase a ticket. 80% of the proceeds are returned to RGU club funds, so it is an excellent way of supporting the development of the club along with the chance of winning some fabulous prizes every month. Contact Marty Brady or any other of the Executive members if you wish to buy one.

All players from minor level downwards are reminded that they will have to wear a mouthguard next year for matches and training. There are different types available with more details on our Facebook page.

The boys and girls from our U-6 and U-8 teams who all enjoyed themselves at the Christmas party held at the club on Saturday morning. The kids had a great time as they all met Santa in the grotto who was assisted on the day by an overgrown elf, aka Paul McAlinden. Many thanks to everyone who helped out and made it such an enjoyable day, especially the 3 Pauls, Edel, Niall and Donna. Also thanks to Paul Kelly from the Quoile Tavern for supplying Santa’s grotto and Alan Oakes from Plus2Print who made the travel arrangements for Santa’s visit.
