RGU Notes

Seconds’ team put up a great fight against an older and stronger side before Liatriom ran out 1-6 to 0-2 winners. Failure to put away good chances cost RGU dearly, but this is a young team and will learn as the season progresses. The Firsts’ team had a tough time in the next match.  A hard uncompromising contest was fought which RGU should have won comfortably, but two poorly defended goals conceded by the boys meant that their opponents snatched a draw. The final result was RGU 1-9 to Liatriom 3-3. Many thanks to all the parents who made the effort to come out and support the two teams. Training continues on Tue night, 7-8.30pm. Large numbers continuing to attend training and matches is very encouraging and augers well for the rest of the season. Details on the next match will be given out on Tuesday night. Training for the Under 6’s, 8s and 10’s continues on Saturday mornings at 10.30AM. There have been fantastic numbers at all sessions so far but we welcome any newcomers, where we have put in a great number of highly qualified and highly enthusiastic coaches.
