There will be an Open Night in the club on 4th April at 7pm for ticket sales for the Wolfe Tones. They are coming to the club on 24 August. Tickets cost £20, so come down and make sure of your ticket. There will be a range of other events on the August Bank Holiday weekend, with details to be confirmed writes John Murphy.

Also on sale will be tickets for the Irish Brigade on 6 April (£10) and the play ‘The Rare Oul Times’ on 4th May. Contact Edel on 07759418419 for tickets for the Wolfe Tones and the Irish Brigade.

This year’s RGU Cul Camp will be held in Week One, 1-5th July. Further details will be posted later in year once arrangements have been made.

There is a Child Protection Course in the club on Wed 4th April at 7pm and a Foundation Level coaching course also at the club on Sat 6 April, 9-2pm. We would encourage anyone who is interested in helping out with our Juvenile teams to attend. If you have not done so already, contact John Murphy on 07881626972 to register. The more people we can get to help, the more coaching we can do.

There will be no training for any age group at Ballymote on Easter Saturday. The U-6’s will have an Easter Egg Hunt and games at the clubrooms this Sat at 10.30am followed by the Easter Draw and the naming of the RGU mascot. Training for U-8’s, U-10’s will move outside on Sat 6 April at 10.30am and the U-6’s will restart on 20 April at 10.30am also outdoors.

Juvenile Girls restart outdoors on 6 April at 12.30pm. U-12 Boys will be training at club this Saturday at 12.15pm. U-14 Boys will be competing in the Feile in Newry on Easter Monday.

We are delighted to announce that RGU has been successful in their application to run the Gaelic4Girls Programme in 2013. We are only 1 of 2 sites chosen in Co Down. All U-14 and younger girls in Downpatrick and surrounding areas will be able to participate in this initiative run by the Ladies Gaelic Football Association. Starts Sat 20 April 11.30am-12.30pm.

A preliminary meeting for Beginners in Conversational Irish will be held in the club on Mon 8th April. If you are interested in attending, contact Maria Collins on 07912029095.
