ARDS Borough Councillor Joe Boyle has praised Roads Service for implementing works to two schemes that he had raised with them concerning ongoing flooding.
He said: “The schemes located at Ballyphilip Road Portaferry and the Inishargy Road, Kircubbin, had been noted as areas in need of drainage schemes to alleviate the flooding concerns that road users and residents had brought to my attention.
“I subsequently organised on-site meetings with the appropriate Road Service officials where it was agreed that
schemes would be initiated.
” These schemes, having now taken place will have an immediate positive effect on these locations and I would place on record my
appreciation to Roads Service and residents for their cooperation in assisting with these former flood areas.”
