Patient And Client Council Announces Downpatrick Health Consultation Meeting

The Patient and Client Council is holding a public roadshow in the Sports Hall, South Eastern Regional College, Downpatrick on Wednesday 22nd October 2014 at 6.30pm to give local people the opportunity to ask the leaders and decision makers about health and social care, including the future of their services locally and regionally. This is the second of six roadshows that the PCC will be organising throughout Northern Ireland.

dn_screenMaeve Hully said: “It is vitally important that the people of Downpatrick and the rest of the South Eastern Trust area have their voices heard regarding health and social care in their area. We all depend on and avail of our health services and the roadshows are a good opportunity to get involved.

“We ran a series of roadshows in 2012 that were attended by over 500 service users and carers. We want to provide more opportunities for the public to engage with our leaders and decision makers so we encourage you to come along”.

The panel for the Downpatrick event are: Catherine Daly (Deputy Permanent Secretary, Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety), Valerie Watts (Chief Executive, Health and Social Care Board), Hugh McCaughey (Chief Executive, South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust) and Doctor Nigel Campbell (Chair, South Eastern Local Commissioning Group). The roadshow will be chaired by Doctor Maureen Edmondson (Board Chair, Patient and Client Council).

Registration and refreshments will be from 6.30pm. Events will begin at 7.00pm sharp and end at 8:30pm.

Places are limited so RSVP is essential.
