Over 76 teams of six youths between the ages of 13 and 18 took part in the event which was sponsored by Newry and Mourne District Council, Down District Council, The National Trust, NIFRS, PSNI, MOD and NI Water.
Both the Expedition and Adventure levels had three phases each including a hike in the Mourne Mountains, Dundrum Bay rib crossing and the Ballykinler Training Centre challenge in addition to overnight camping in Kilbroney Forest Park and Tollymore Forest Park respectively.
“I cannot be more pleased for the team; they deserve first place,” said Constable Davy Jones of Newcastle Neighbourhood Policing Team.  “Each member of team showed admirable dedication and appear to have thoroughly enjoyed the days events.
“The event allowed the team to show their skills such as team building, decision-making and stamina, which I hope they will then put to good use in their every day lives.”
