Man Arrested Following Parrot Burglary

It has now been confirmed that the parrot recovered by police during a search of a property in the Burnreagh Drive area of Newtownards on 14 May is one of the parrots stolen during the burglary at commercial premises in the Seaforde Road area of Downpatrick on 12 May. All three parrots have now been located and returned.dn_screen

During the search of the property in the Newtownards area, a number of other items, including boxes of washing powder which are believed to have been stolen during burglaries in the Down area in recent days, were recovered.

A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of four counts of burglary, handling stolen goods and possession of Class B and Class C drugs. He has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
