AS the better weather becons us, LECALE CONSERVATION, a local environmental charity that aims to promote the coutrytside and built heritage in the area, is holding a BEACH CLEAN at Minerstown beach on Saturday 9th April.
Everyone is asked to meet in the Minerstown Beach car park just before 10am. The clean up will go on until 2pm. All helpers are very welcome. Lecale Conservation has organised other successful beach cleans in the past and is keen to encourage everyone to look after the beaches of County Down.
On the day, memers will also be pointing out that this os almost he nesting season for many bird such as the plover and care must be taken to ensure nests are not damaged.
Litter pickers. gloves and bags will be available on the day. This event is supported by Tidy NI and Down District Council.
