Islandderry Winter League Comes To An End In Tight Battle

The strong winds made Ronnie McFadden opt for fishing from the jetty which worked to his benefit as a lot of fish were in close to the shore. Ronnie released 15 trout in total over the day and the three that he weighed gave him a round winning bag weight of 11lbs 10oz, which included a lovely 5lbs 2oz rainbow trout all caught on buzzers and small wets of his own pattern.

Second place in the round went to Paddy Brunty who fished from the boat and had a three fish bag weight of 8lbs 10oz while Sean Gibson took third place in the final round with three fish from the bank weighing in at 7lbs 10oz. Sean returned over 10 fish all caught on his own dwal bac pattern.

After the final scores were allocated the overall winner for the second time since the league started was Lisburn angler Ronnie McFadden who finished with 38 points sending him home £400 richer! Well done Ronnie! Second place with 37 points went to Belfast angler Paddy Brunty, and third place with 30 points went to Dromore angler Paul Brown. And well done and thank you to all who supported the league.
