JIM Shannon, DUP MP for Strangford, has stated that the latest Ulster Scot Tourism initiative for an interactive trail will cost £26 000 into the Ards and North Down Borough.

He said, “This cost will be spread by Ulster Scots Broadcast Fund, Ulster Scots Agency, Ards and North Down Borough Council and Lagan Media productions. This exciting project maintains the momentum of Ulster Scots in the Ards with an interactive map, a short film, historical documents, an archive of old film, wonderful photographs – all focussed on the Ards and North Down.

“For some years as an Ulster Scots enthusiast I have been calling for this type of interactive trial to be carried out, at last this suggestion has been endorsed by hard cash that will preserve and enhance the history of the area and I congratulate Ards Borough Council for the role that they will play in this.”
