Hillsborough Farmers’ Market Offers The Best Of Artisan Producers
Hillsborough Farmers’ Market to offer the best of Northern Ireland’s artisan producers throughout the summer
Dates: Saturday 30th June 2018
Time: 10am – 3pm
Location: Dark Walk Lane, Hillsborough
Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council will host its second Hillsborough Farmers’ Market of the summer on Saturday 30 June with the very best local, seasonal and artisan food. The weekend market can be found on the idyllic setting of Dark Walk Lane at Hillsborough Fort. Visitors will have the opportunity to interact and buy directly from local food producers from across Northern Ireland.
The June market promises to offer a greater number of stalls with quality small-batch produce on offer, including seasonal Comber Early Potatoes, speciality rare-breed meats and award-winning charcuterie, oysters and smoked salmon, preserves, chutneys and pickles, Irish artisan cheeses, chocolates and fudge, as well as fresh bread, cakes, and artisan street food, all served against a backdrop of the shady trees that line Dark Walk Lane. Now in its third year, the summer markets have proven to be a popular staple event in the Council area.
The talent and skill of food producers from across the province will be on display, including offerings that cater for special dietary needs, whether vegan, gluten or dairy free. Producers such as Ballyriff Buffalo, Mike’s Fancy Cheese, Ispini Charcuterie, Deli Muru, Crumbs Vegan Bakery and newcomer, Bara Bakehouse with a range of sourdoughs, rustic French and Irish breads will be in attendance. Not forgetting the street food options that can be enjoyed in the picnicking area, with award-winning food from The Hatch, a Dickie D’s Grilled Cheese gourmet sandwich or a Buchanan’s all-day breakfast bap.
Bringing a further dimension to the offering is local cut flower producer, Foliage Works, herbaceous perennial plant specialist, Cottage Garden Plants, and succulent specialist Howell & Trowel.
Hillsborough Farmers Market will trade from 10am to 3pm on Saturday 30th June 2018. For further information please visit:
