Hazzard Welcomes Tourism Signage Solutions For South Down
Mr Hazzard said: “I welcome the swift action from the Minister to address this problem, especially his willingness to respond to locals’ concerns.
“Tourism plays a crucial part in our local economy throughout South Down, so it was worrying that road signage was wrongly advising coaches not to travel through various parts of the Mournes. I am delighted that the Minister has agreed to remove such signage as soon as possible.
“I have now called on the Minister to examine our coastal road infrastructure in South Down to ensure that we are not turning away large numbers of tourists who want to travel along one of Ireland’s most scenic routes.”
