The Baileghlas Under-12’s had a busy weekend, starting with taking part in the Gary Murray Tournament in Clonduff on Saturday morning. The team were up against some tough opposition in the group stages however they did enough to get from the group stage and into the quarter final of the plate where they faced Rostrevor. A brilliant display of football and determination from Baileghlas saw them win the game and into the semi final against Saval. This unfortunately was to be their last game of the day as Saval proved too strong opponents. The Baileghlas team can take heart from their performance and know they did themselves proud as Saval went on to win the plate competition on the day.

Sunday morning saw an away game against a strong An Riocht side. An Riocht proved in the first half of the game why they are league leaders, however, Baileghlas came out stronger in the second half and played some brilliant football. The lead An Riocht had in the first half was too much to overcome and it was the home side who were victorious on the day. Well done to the Baileghlas lads, the perserverance and grit you showed in the second half of that game was a credit to you all.

Under-12 training continues on Thursday evening at the Quarter Road pitch from 6pm until 7.30pm. The next game is a home game against neighbours Longstone. Players to be at the Quarter Road pitch at 10.15am on Sunday morning.

The Under-14’s suffered a defeat to Longstone away last Monday night. There were some great displays of football from both sides on the night. We were missing a few key players and are looking forward to the return game.

Gaelic for Mothers and Others Tuesday Nights at The Quarter Road starting a@ 7 -00 p.m.
