Council Chair Signs Book Of Condolence For Nice Victims

Newry Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Gillian Fitzpatrick, has signed the Book of Condolence for the Nice victims of a terrorist attack.

Newry Mourne and Down District Council has opened Books of Condolence for those who lost their lives in Nice, France, recently in a terrorist attack.

The citizens of Newry Mourne and Down District can now express their condolences for the many lives lost in the Nice attack on Thursday 14 July by signing the books.

The Books of Condolence are located at the Council’s Newry Office, Monaghan Row and Downpatrick Office, Downshire Civic Centre, Ardglass Road. Books of Condolence will also be available at the Sean Holywood Arts Centre in Newry and the Down Arts Centre in Downpatrick. The books will be available for signing during normal opening hours.

On Friday 15 July, Newry Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Gillian Fitzpatrick, was first to sign the book and said: “The opening of these Books of Condolence will allow the good people of our district to send their solidarity and condolences to the people of Nice. I offer my sympathies to the families and friends of all those who have lost their lives.”
