Audrey Byrne, Down PCSP’s Vice-Chair said: “I am delighted that the PCSP agreed to develop an Action Plan for the Castlewellan Road area. This Plan should have a positive impact for the residents living in the area and help make it a safer environment to reside in. I would like to thank all those members of the community and agencies who have worked together and will continue to work in partnership to make this such a success.”

Officers from the PSNI attended to give advice on Road Safety and brought along their Police Quads. Residents were also able to avail of activities such as face painting, balloon modelling, bouncy castles, a mega slide, gladiator duels, a bungee run and a climbing wall.

As well as a successful five week soccer programme which has recently finished, a number of programmes will be happening in the area over the next couple of months including a Community Clean-Up Day on Saturday 4 October and a Recruitment Fair on Friday 17 October. The PCSP is continuing to work alongside key agencies to provide additional programmes for this area.
