She added: “Year 13 students attended a Road Safety Event on Thursday 20 October held at the Down High School. This was a collaboration between Cool FM, the PSNI and Health and Social Care Trusts.

“The event was hosted by Down High School for local secondary schools and proved to be a reflective, shocking and thought-provoking event. The students were presented with the impact of the horrors and trauma of an actual Road Traffic Accident on all personnel involved, from the PSNI, NI Ambulance Service, NI Fire and Rescue Service, with parents and a victim paralysed in a Road Traffic Accident.

Year 13 student Molly Ward was delighted because she won two tickets to see Biffy Clyro for her wining dance moves with her version of ‘Gangnam style’! (Pictured L-R - Molly Ward and her friends - Orlaith Paul, Molly Ward Laura Mason and Cleona Mc Cartan)

“The presentation culminated in the visual simulation of an upturned crash vehicle with smoke emanating from it, a very realistic scenario.”

“Our thanks to Down High for hosting the event and for their warm welcome and hospitality.
