HOPING for a cracking Easter this year? Look no further than the Easter Craft Fair and Family Day at Castle Ward near Strangford in Co. Down.

Join the Easter Bunny at Castle Ward this year for another fun filled egg-stravaganza.

Jacqueline Baird, Castle Ward Visitor Services Manager, said, “Now the fun has been extended over a third day, from Easter Sunday 24th to Easter Tuesday 26th, so that you and your family can hunt for Easter eggs in the spring sunshine for even longer this year.

“Grab an egg and participate in our Easter Egg Roll. Follow Cadbury’s Easter Egg Trail for your chance to win delicious chocolate eggs on all three days.

“Get your binoculars out and search for over 10,000 eggs nestled around our beautiful grounds in our great Easter Egg Hunt on Monday and Tuesday. Then get creative in the new and exclusive Cadbury’s Children’s Play area at Castle Ward.

Young Sarah has her eggs all ready for rolling at Easter.

“Feel like Cinderella and survey beautiful views of the Lough as you are drawn by horse and carriage through the spectacular wooded property.  Stop off at the Barn for children’s crafts, table top games and ride on tractors. Visit the animals on the farmyard trail.

“For grown ups, enjoy a wide range of local crafters and wonderfully eclectic specialist food stalls, from sizzling crisp sticks to sumptuous cup cakes.

“Enjoy the sun in the picturesque Victorian Sunken Gardens with a picnic.  Or you can take a stroll around the magnificent Temple Water. Complete your day with a visit to the House. Puzzle over the architectural conundrum, where Classical meets Gothic in exuberant style.

“An excellent range of gifts and books are available from the National Trust gift shop and hundreds of second hand books from the book shop.  The Stableyard tea room offers a selection of family dishes and delights,” added Mrs Baird.

The Easter Craft Fair runs from 12noon to 6pm on Easter Sunday 24th April, Monday 25th and Tuesday 26th 2011.

Normal admission charges apply.  Members are free.  Why not become a member of the National Trust today to enjoy free entry today and to all our properties for a whole year?
