Call For Creative Talent To Register For New App

Newry Mourne and Down District Council is calling upon creative businesses within the region to be part of an innovative new Creative Trail app, designed to showcase the very best in local creative talent.

The downloadable app, built through the Creative Momentum project, is being launched by Newry, Mourne and Down District Council this summer, with the aim of connecting the public to the region’s most interesting speciality arts and crafts producers. Anyone downloading the app will be able to take a ‘creative discovery’, following a trail that showcases featured businesses, their products, skills and services.

If you are in creative arts, sign up to be included in the app.

Newry Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Roisin Mulgrew said: “We are delighted to be rolling out the Creative Trail app this summer which will really shine a spotlight on the wealth of creative talent in our area, from fashion design to watercolour painting, glass blowing to ceramics.

“We would encourage local creative businesses to take the opportunity to be part of this virtual guide, which will be actively promoted to local residents and the tourist audience. The Creative Trail app will provide users with an enjoyable and unique way to enjoy our area, and unearth some of our hidden creative gems along the way.

Newry Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson Cllr Roisin Mulgrew is encouraging local creative businesses to get onto the new app.

“It is so important to shout about the creative businesses we have on our doorstep to encourage local economic development and support the skills of the many talented people within in our communities.”

Businesses featuring in the app will not only have a listing on the creative trail, but will also benefit from inclusion on:

www.mycreativeedge.eu

a forum that showcases the work of businesses and individuals working in the creative industries sector in Mid-Sweden, North East Iceland, Northern Finland, South East of Northern Ireland and the West of Ireland.

Companies have until week commencing Thursday 15 June 2017 to register interest for inclusion on the Creative Trail app.
