Bright GAC Notes for 19/5/13

The Ladies fixture against St Michael’s was cancelled this week and will hopefully go ahead on Thursday night. Saturday sees the girls face Loughinisland at home, this will no doubt be a close match so please come along and support the girls.  Training continues Tuesday and Thursday at 6.45pm writes Ciara Sharvin.

The men faced St Pauls on Sunday.  It started with an excellent first half performance, however, they were unable to maintain the intensity of the game for the 60 minutes. Solid performances in the back line from Kevin Groves, Dee Sharvin and Barry Mageean. Conor McAllister and Nicky O’Connor worked tirelessly in midfield. Up front good scores from Conor Doyle and Brendan McMenamin.  The Final score was St Paul’s 2-12 Bright 1-6.dn_screen
The U-10’s took part in a blitz on in Drumaness on Saturday.  Unfortunately the weather was very wet and made the playing conditions very difficult and unpleasant, but the players gave it their all despite this and gave a very good account of themselves.  Well done everyone. The U-12’s match was postponed this week due many players being absent on a school trip, hopefully this will be rearranged in the near future.  Training continues Wednesday night at 6pm.
The U-14’s played away to Dundrum last Monday night.  Yet again they showed their dominance in their division coming out strong winners with a score line of 17-17 to 0-6.  Absolutely remarkable result boys, keep all your hard work up. Well done to St Joseph’s, Killough P6 and P7 football team who won The football tournament they took part in last Friday.
Last reminder for orders of Bright merchandise. All players are asked to strip out in the Bright colours during matches which include socks & shorts. It also looks professional if players arrive at matches in the club colours therefore ensure you have the Bright hoody ordered. The order forms, with money, must be with Ollie Burke by 24th May. This will be the only order made this season so don’t miss out.

The club would like to remind all visitors and patrons of the club that dogs are strictly forbidden from entering the pitch and surrounding grounds.

Don’t forget the upcoming event on Saturday 13 July.  This sees the return of the Hypnotist in the hall.  All those that attended this fabulous nights entertainment last year will know this is not to be missed! ticket prices and release dates will follow soon.
Some places have become available for the 200 Club, if interested please contact Marty Tumelty or any committee member.  Remember, if you’re not in you can’t win.
Lotto results for 19.05.13 were 3, 4, 8, 13.  Two people had 3 numbers – the jackpot is now £5200.
