The club would like to wish long time committee member Eddie Sharvin and Club President Jack O’Donnell a speedy recovery after their recent stint in hospital writes Ciara Sharvin.

Now that there is a stretch in the evenings the ladies will be training at our own pitch in Ballynoe at 6pm sharp on Monday night.  The season will be starting in a few weeks so managers would like full committment from all girls.  Also please remember to bring £2.

The senior men continue to train Wednesday with the league now started it is imperative that full committment is given.  That said, the next fixture is Friday at home to Ardglass throw in at 6.45pm.  The club would also like to wish Men’s Manager Coly Savage the best of luck in the final of Strictly Come Dancing this Saturday night.
The Under-12’s start their league campaign against Aughlisnafin at home on Sunday at 11am.
The Under- 16’s have their first game of the season on Thursday at 6.30pm away against Ballymartin. Training for all juvenille teams takes place on Wednesday at 6pm.  The boys Minor league also starts this week with a home game agaianst Castlewellan on Tuesday at 6.30pm.
The Annual Angela McCartan Lourdes Appeal was well attended on Saturday night, with a fabulous band and a photobooth, there was a great nights craic had by all.  Thanks to the generosity of the entire surrounding community they were able to raise £2380.  Winners of the raffle were, first – James Burke, second – Bernie Milligan and third – Christopher Gordon.
There has been a play arranged to run in the Great Hall at Downshire Hospital on 27-28 April at 8pm, part proceeds will go towards the club. The play is written by Viv Brennan and is called “No Hope Here”. It’s a Hilarious Ulster Comedy. Come along and have a good old laugh. Ticket prices are £10 and £8 for u16s/Over 60’s.  Contact any committee member to book.

There are two upcoming events in the club.  On Friday 10 May our annual Bright Day at the Races will be held at Downpatrick Racecourse, this is always a great days craic and if the lucks in maybe a profitable one too.  Details of tickets to follow.
Also on Saturday 13 July sees the return of the Hypnotist in the hall.  All those that attended this fabulous nights entertainment last year will know this is not to be missed! Ticket prices and release dates will follow soon.
