Bright GAC Club Notes For 10th June 2018

Bright Senior  match report.
Final score   Bright 5-20 Newry Mitchels 0-5.
Bright played some scintillating football throughout their encounter with Newry Mitchels. Matthew Burns settled Bright into the game early with a well taken free kick. In fact his free taking was perfect all evening scoring 5 out of 5.
Mitchels had no answer to Brights front three of Burnsie, Brendan McMenamin and Corey Ranaghan. If it wasn’t these three then up stepped Cormac McLaughlin, Freddie O’Connor and Gareth George to create chance after chance. James Hanna provided the catalyst from the back with pin point kick outs which launched Noel Travers from half back to support the forward movements.
Barry Mageean, Marc Burke, Francis McKinney and Joseph Farrand kept things tight at the back and with Seamas Tumelty breaking things up in centre half back Bright’s forwards had the freedom of the pitch. Oran Tumelty acted as go-between with the forwards and backs. With a half time lead of 3-5 to 0-1 Bright looked very comfortable.
The second half was a case of as you were. Bright never let up and they cut the complancy out of their game which had proved costly in previous matches. Travers was a real thorn in Mitchels side with his pace and link up play. The introduction of Nicky O’Connor into midfield alongside the brilliant Cailean Toner didn’t help Mitchels cause. This gave George a chance to push up and create more havoc. A brilliant performance all round which Bright will surely build on. Final score 5-20 to 0-5.
Scorers: Burns 0-6. Travers 1-2. McMenamin 1-3. George 2-4. F. O’Connor 1-1.  McLaughlin 0-1. Ranaghan 0-2. Toner 0-1.
