Games Update

The Seniors lost their first game of the season away to newly promoted Newry Mitchells. Ardglass started slowly in both halves and could not recover the deficit, although they drew level on several occasion they could not edge ahead. Throughout the game Liam Mullan (1-3) and James Telford at midfield had solid performances. The next game home to Newry Bosco on Monday 18th @ 8pm and away to Attical on Easter Monday @ 4pm. Ardglass team – R Fitzpatrick, S P Halpin, E McEvoy, M Crangle, C O’Connor, C Dorrian, D Pullen, J Telford, M Magee(0-3), R Curran, L Mullan( 1-3), J Polley(0-1), J O’Connor, M Cahir, S Rooney(0-2).   Subs – M Armstrong (1-0), C Armstrong, A Finnegan, L McEvoy, T Kearney, P Curran The Reserves defeated Darragh Cross 2-6 to 0-6 on Sunday evening, the scoreline line does not reflect the dominance of possession Ardglass had throughout the game, Eamon McEvoy scored 1-3 from play, while Aidy Finnegan, Mark Cahir and Richie Fitzpatrick added some fine scores, in defence Collie Smyth and Mark Lennon were robust in defence dominating their opponents and ensuring Darragh Cross never threatened Paul O’Shea’s goal. Subs – D Fleming, T Kearney The Under -12’s lost in their second outing in the Go Games spring series away to Drumaness. Two late goals sealed the victory for the blues to give them a five point victory. In the first half Stewart Kahla had a fine game in goals and followed this up with a good performance when moved out the field, he was ably assisted throughout by Rory Deegan and Conor Kearney. Training continues on Thursday ay 6.30 sharp. The Under-8’s travelled to Teconnaught on Sunday morning and played a well drilled and mobile home team,. Ardglass showed improvement in defence and midfield areas since their last game, Dara O’Shea, Dylan Addis and James Crangle were the most improved while Gavin O’Shea and Flinn Morgan made some fine saves while in goals. On Easter Saturday there will be a Blitz at Ardtole @ 10.30am  with Ballykinlar, Bright and Teconnaught the opposition The Under-14’s lost the opening league game in a tense derby against Bright at Ardtole, Ardglass dominated the first half with Callum Costello scoring 3-3, however in the second period Bright powered back into the game and ran out six point winners. Training Continues on Tuesday’s at 7pm, and there will be no match this week.]]>
