Alliance Welcomes Dundrum Tourist Figures

The figures released come following recent upgrading and improving of the various tourist amenity sites and car parks at the Twelve Arches, Dundrum Inner Bay, Green Banks and Main Street in Dundrum as part of the Mourne Coastal Route project. Newcastle Alliance Councillor Patrick Clarke said, “I very much welcome the increase in the recent figures recorded between May 28th to August 28th August which shows nearly 40,000 cars visited the Twelve Arches, Dundrum Inner Bay and Main Street tourist amenity sites in Dundrum. [caption id="attachment_27806" align="alignleft" width="200" caption="Down District Councillor Patrick Clarke is delighted at the latest tourist fugures for the Dundrum area."][/caption] “The recent upgrading and improvement works carried out to the various tourist amenity sites in Dundrum shows a significant increase with over 62 per cent of vehicles visiting the Dundrum Inner Bay tourist amenity site alone. “Tourism is a very important part of any coastal area, and I am delighted to see the recorded figures of cars visiting the various Dundrum tourist amenity sites between June, July and August. “All of the tourist amenity sites in Dundrum are open to the general public all year round and are free of charge, so it is no surprise that people are choosing to stop of and visit these newly upgraded tourism attractions in Dundrum,”  added Councillor Clarke.]]>
