MAKE 2012 memorable and take a trip on behalf of Mainstay DRP to anywhere in the world. And raise much needed funds for adults with Autism or severe learning disabilities.

The high profile Autism care and support charity has teamed up with activity trip operator, Discover Adventure, to promote an exciting range of charity fundraising challenges. The tricky bit is deciding where to go.

From cycle trips in the Alps, Marrakech and the Atlas Mountains or Trans Central America to walking treks following the Great Wall of China, through the Sahara or an extreme adventure to Kilimajaro - Mainstay DRP are looking for you to participate.

These tailor made charity challenges are the perfect way to see the world, experience other cultures, create wonderful memories…and raise money for a very worthwhile cause…Mainstay DRP. And you don’t have to cycle or trek if you don’t want to – you could sail around the Channel Islands or snowshoe in Sweden. There are various dates to choose from so check your diary.

All money raised will go to the long term fundraising project ‘Building The Dream’ to create a state-of-the-art purpose built development to suit the needs of the charity’s older service users. The aim of the new build is to offer three fundamental services provided by the charity, at a new location at Killough Road, Downpatrick. And Mainstay DRP desperately need your help to raise the £3million required to do this.

Jonathan Bryan, MD of Discover Adventure, has been collaborating with hundreds of charities since creating the company in 1994 to design and operate safe and enjoyable challenges for their fundraisers

“As a result we have built up an enviable reputation due to our professionalism, friendly and flexible approach, competitive pricing and safety record. Overseas challenges represent a vital funding stream for many charities and undoubtedly attract new fundraisers, and thus new funds. We have a clear conscience our open challenges offer the best possible deal for charities.”

Mainstay DRP’s chief executive Helen Taylor is appealing for all adventurers to combine their travels with raising much needed funds for some of the most vulnerable people in society.

“We’re always looking for new and exciting ways to reach our £3million ‘Building The Dream’ target and by teaming up with Discover Adventures, our budding volunteer fundraisers can combine the trip of a lifetime with helping those who need it most.

“Due to the recession, many people have not taken a holiday for quite a while or feel guilty about even thinking of planning a break. This is the perfect way to see another part of the world, meet new people while giving something back to your local community.

“So why not make 2012 the year you embark on an amazing adventure for Mainstay DRP!”

Helen added: “There are two ways to fund the trip you choose. Self-fund the cost of your own trip and donate 100 per cent of your fundraising to Mainstay DRP or you can fundraise to meet both the cost of your trip cost and our set fundraising target.”
