Down District Council Events Development Officer, Ann Moreland, said, “Hallowtides Festival is another great example of Down District Council working in partnership with the Newcastle Chamber and local retailers and is delighted with the energy, enthusiasm and creativity with which they have adopted this years Hallowtides Festival theme.

“Many of them have contributed by creating wonderful floats for the parade, others have scarecrows on show to haunt the visitors, and many have donated fabulous prizes which will be on offer on Saturday 29 October. Local schools from Newcastle, Dundrum and Castlewellan have worked on festive art projects and they will form part of the Parade of Light and Bedazzling Floats, along with members from local sports clubs, Ladies Nomads Hockey Team, Newcastle Tennis Club and the Bryansford GAA, it will be another wonderful night to remember in Newcastle, so don’t miss it!”

With lots more happening throughout the district this is one Halloween celebration you won’t want to miss!
